In August 2018 delegates from the First Nations media sector travelled to Canberra to brief Federal representatives about our sector. On 26 September 2018 we delivered a webinar featuring Mandy Taylor, Dot West, Jodie Bell, Daniel Featherstone and Claire Stuchbery encouraging First Nations media organisations to engage with representatives at all levels. The webinar provided some ‘how to’ advice from the perspective of an expert in the field, sharing stations and personal experiences and connecting with First Nations Media’s 9 Calls for Action Highlights from the webinar can be viewed below and the slides can be downloaded here (to be linked to file attached) for reference. With both State and Federal elections coming up in 2019, First Nations media organisations are encouraged to connect with candidates relevant to your community.
