First Nations Media Australia’s annual CONVERGE event celebrates, showcases and recognises the essential role of the First Nations media industry in amplifying the voices, stories, and cultural narratives of First Nations peoples across Australia and abroad. First Nations media provides conduits for the expression, empowerment, and cultural preservation of First Nations communities.

CONVERGE is a vital opportunity to receive valuable sector updates, to network and to have your say in helping set the future direction of the First Nations media industry.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Please Note: the full CONVERGE 2023 program will be announced in the coming weeks.

CONVERGE 2023 will host a series of panels, break off group sessions and a special Keynote Address by the Award-winning Journalist, Stan Grant on Tuesday, 21 November 2023. Included will be presentations from MPs, Guest Speakers and Industry Partners followed up by the First Nations Media Awards night- acknowledging outstanding talent and contribution to First Nations media (to be live-streamed).

CONVERGE 2023 and the First Nations Media Awards will be held at Old Parliament House, 18 King George Terrace, Canberra Australian Capital Territory 2600.  
 

A shuttle bus will operate between delegate accommodations and the venue.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided during the CONVERGE conference days.

 

Pre-Conference Sunset Social – Monday 20th November

Welcome from FNMA Chair, CEO and Traditional Owners followed by a meet & greet with light refreshments provided.

CONVERGE DAY 1 and DAY 2 Conference - Wednesday 22nd& Thursday 23rd November.

Delegates will CONVERGE on Old Parliament House for the two-day conference and will be invited to attend plenary sessions, keynotes and panel forums, plus facilitated discussion groups and breakout sessions throughout the program.

An area of the Old Parliament House will be designated as a Trades Hall for the two-day event, allowing delegates an opportunity to talk with sponsors suppliers and stakeholders, and provide a break-out space for networking.
