The 16th Festival held at the exotic tip of Cape York Peninsula in the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA), concluded with a magical grand finale on Friday night 26th September.
The 2014 Festival was coordinated by IRCA in partnership with Queensland Remote Aboriginal Media (QRAM), the Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC), Indigenous Community Television (ICTV), and the Torres Strait Islanders Media Association (TSIMA).
150 remote community broadcasters, media producers and industry partners converged from across Australia for the week of activities (22-26th September). Delegates participated in the packed program of skills workshops, industry roundtables, video screenings, live radio broadcasts, music performance and cultural events.
Festival delegates were treated to a stunning closing concert featuring five traditional dance troops representing the 5 clan groups within the region, followed by two local bands. Over 400 community members joined delegates in a cultural feast and the concert program.
